War spills across a much smaller CANVAS today as Sega releases a demo of Valkyria Chronicles II for the PSP on the PlayStation Network. Check out the sequel to the underappreciated PlayStation 3 game ahead of its August 31 release.The original Valkyria Chronicles for the PlayStation 3 is an amazing game, with striking visuals and a unique hybrid of turn-based strategy and role-playing gameplay. Valkyria Chronicles II preserves the watercolor finish of the CANVAS system, while adding various improvements to the battle system, including a multi-field battle layout with branching paths. It even adds multiplayer to the mix, allowing both cooperative and competitive play.
Of course it is still a portable sequel to a console game, so it's easy to see why fans of the first title might be wary of giving it another go. That's what demos were made for.
