Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine Online Gets A New Story [Update]

image
When we last heard news of Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine Online, it involved abondage Angel advertising the title to gamers in Korea. This bit of news, however, pertains to the English-speaking audience.

Publisher Aeria Games just announced that a new free content update for the game allows access to episode 1 of “Chain of Curse,” a new storyline penned by “one of the franchise’s original creators”. We wrote to Aeria asking just who this was but haven’t received a response so far.

The new content update provides new ingame events and quests in new locales, which Aeria describe as “investigating a new, mysterious trend taking over the youths in Shinjuku Babel.” The update also includes a range of game tweaks designed around community requests. You can read more about these here.

Update: Aeria Games just informed us that the new scenario has been written by Kazunari “Archbishop” Suzuki. Suzuki, in collaboration with Chiaki Ogishima, produced one of the many Shin Megami Tensei manga, loosely related to the games. We believe the Tokyo Revelation OVA was based on his work.
